For yesterday’s Navaratri prasad I prepared this sundal. Easy peasy sundal tasty and healthy too.

Mungbean_Sundal

Ingredients:(Serves 2)

Mung Bean/Pasi Payaru : 1/4 cup

Salt : 1/8 teaspoon

Water : as needed

Oil : 1/4 teaspoon

Mustard Seeds : 1/4 teaspoon

Urad Dal : 1/4 teaspoon

Red Chili : 1

Asafoetida/Hing : generous pinch

Curry Leaves : few

Grated Coconut : 1 tablespoon

Method:

  • Wash Mung beans twice or thrice.
  • Soak Mung beans overnight in water or soak in hot water for 2 to 3 hours.
  • Put it in a pressure cooker, pout 3/4 cup water add salt and cook for 6 whistles.
  • Let it cool. Make sure no excess water is present. If so drain it.
  • Heat oil in a pan. Add mustard seeds, urad dal, red chili, asafoetida.
  • when it splutters add curry leaves.
  • Next add grated coconut and stop the heat.
  • Mix well and mix the same with the cooked beans.
  • Now sundal is ready 🙂
