For yesterday’s Navaratri prasad I prepared this sundal. Easy peasy sundal tasty and healthy too.
Ingredients:(Serves 2)
Mung Bean/Pasi Payaru : 1/4 cup
Salt : 1/8 teaspoon
Water : as needed
Oil : 1/4 teaspoon
Mustard Seeds : 1/4 teaspoon
Urad Dal : 1/4 teaspoon
Red Chili : 1
Asafoetida/Hing : generous pinch
Curry Leaves : few
Grated Coconut : 1 tablespoon
Method:
- Wash Mung beans twice or thrice.
- Soak Mung beans overnight in water or soak in hot water for 2 to 3 hours.
- Put it in a pressure cooker, pout 3/4 cup water add salt and cook for 6 whistles.
- Let it cool. Make sure no excess water is present. If so drain it.
- Heat oil in a pan. Add mustard seeds, urad dal, red chili, asafoetida.
- when it splutters add curry leaves.
- Next add grated coconut and stop the heat.
- Mix well and mix the same with the cooked beans.
- Now sundal is ready 🙂
